My name is Alex Pressl and love to develop trading strategies based on TradeStation. Like many automated strategy developers I faced the Problem that there are several platforms out there, which are somewhat different and fit a niche better than TradeStation.
However, Tradestations EasyLanguage and fast turn around for getting results is unmatched.
Tradestation users have a nice platform to write simple and yet powerful strategies and instantly backtest it. But the limitation to one brokerage and the bad execution of trades sucks.
It feels like the execution part of Tradestation is the worst in the industry and crashes are kind of "normal" for Tradestation. I simply cannot stand that when my money is in the market and senseless rejections, routing problems or crashes let my trades run to nowhere.
Other platforms like NinjaTrader (Futures) or Metatrader (Forex). have excellent execution, but are far less convenient to develop, backtest and for the code you need to be a full blown programmer.
So the idea is born: a project which gives us a tool which allows to write strategies in Easy Language on Tradestation, and then convert them into native NinjaTrader and Metatrader strategies which can be compiled and run without major changes on those target systems.
